The Cithaerias merolina is a glasswing butterfly native to Peru. It has clear glass-like wings with clear pink ends on the bottom. They are part of the Nymphalidae family. A glasswing butterfly's larvae eat the leaves of plants from deadly nightshades, oleanders, and dogbane. Thus, a larva will contain the same toxins; when a predator eats one, it will become sick. Once evolved into a butterfly, its wings become its defense. It will blend in and disappear in its habitat. As all of our specimens are real the look of the specimen will vary slightly. Found in Peru.
